Job Overview
The Crane Operator reports to the Cargo Operations Manager (COM). He/she works on a roster determined by the vessel schedule and berthing plan. He/she is responsible for safely loading/unloading cargo ships that are berthed at the pierhead. In-house training and mentorship will be provided as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate cranes to load and unload cargo from ships.
- Ensure the safe and efficient movement of cargo.
- Conduct pre-operation checks and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Collaborate with the Cargo Operations Manager and team to coordinate loading/unloading activities.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating cranes or heavy machinery is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours based on vessel schedules.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
