MV Corona loading Sugar

On January 15, 2010 the MV Corona arrived in Belize to commence the exports of the sugar exports. The Sugar Industry has been beset with many difficulties arising from production shortfalls which is attributed to the new Belcogen Power Plant recently commissioned. BSI has had a slow start however we expect that after the teething problems have been sorted out, production should be steady and future vessels should not encounter any major delays.

The Port of Belize provides stevedoring services and will do its best to ensure that the loading process be carried out with the minimum of difficulties notwithstanding delays caused by inclement weather and shortages of sugar or breakdown of machinery.
