Dan Felix Hyster Operator Resigns

was employed from July 01, 1980 with Belize Ports Authority as a Forklift Operator in the Warehouse Department, after a couple of years he was transferred to the Operations Department and promoted to an assistant crane operator to the then BPA – 35 tons Jones Crane along with the late Chester Yorke. In 1984 BPA acquired a 25 ton Hyster 700C Container Handler and again he was assigned along with the late Florentino Thomas to operate this equipment. In 1988 BPA obtained the 140 ton Manitowoc Crane and he was the assistant crane operator as well. 1993 BPA purchased a 45 ton P & H 5 High Super Stacker Container Handler, Mr. Felix was sent to North Carolina P & H Super Stacker School along with other mechanics and operators to obtain certification in operating and handling of this equipment. Upon his return he was assigned as the assistant Stacker Operator upon the retirement of the Stacker Operator in 2000. In 2002 BPA purchased a 50 ton Hyster 1050E Container Handlers and he was assigned as the equipment operator from its delivery to the Port. In 2004 the operational section of the Port was privatized and Mr. Felix remained with the company – Port of Belize as heavy equipment – Hyster/Stacker Operator until his resignation on December 29, 2009.
