On October 31st, 2009 staff and management joined with Mrs. Josephine Frazer to bid her farewell as she decided to part ways with the Port after more than twenty nine years.  She has been with us from the first day the Port opened its doors for business.   She was employed as a Steno Secretary on July 1st, 1980, and then promoted to the post of Executive Secretary on January 21st, 1987.  On October 31st, 2000 her services as Executive Secretary was retired, without hesitation she was rehired at a new post that of Secretary on November 1st, 2009, so she didn’t get a chance to soak up her retirement.  On April 21st, 2008 her post was modified to Receptionist/Secretary until the end of her employment at the Port.

During her employment she was awarded employee of the quarter April-June 2003 for her outstanding performance in performing her duties. When the Port celebrated its 25th anniversary she was awarded a certificate of recognition for her 25 years of continuous service and contribution in the development of the Port.

At the retirement ceremony Deputy CEO- Franzine Waight praised Mrs. Frazer on her best quality, confidentiality.  Every meeting she sat in and took minutes it was certain that’s where it stayed in the meeting, no one was able to get a word from her.  She was always Ms. Jo or Ms. Frazer to the staff always quiet in her little corner always private. She never enjoyed taking pictures but on this day we did not have to sneak up on her with the camera as she was camera friendly.  Staff and management bid her adieu with much thanks and admiration for exemplary work ethics.  We wish her all the best!
