Accountant: Ms. Joyce Ramsey Retires

On Tuesday, April 07th, 2015 after twenty seven (27) plus years of service to the Port of Belize Limited (formerly Belize Ports Authority) the staff gathered to celebrate the retirement of Accountant-Ms. Joyce Ramsey, “Ms. Betty or Granny Bets”. Ms. Ramsey entered the then Belize Ports Authority on July 24th, 1987 as a fresh faced Accounts Clerk II. At that time accountings was black and white, pen and paper no quickbooks to speed up the process.
In time she proved her accounting skills had grown and her quality of work met the criteria for a promotion and she was promoted to the post of Accounts Clerk I on January 1st, 2002. This was a nice way to start the New Year, she mastered her challenges effortlessly.
Ms. Ramsey out grew the post of a clerk and it was at this time that she was once again recognized for her outstanding performance and was promoted to the post of Accountant on May 01st, 2012. Over the years Ms. Ramsey has proven to be an exemplary employee, always willing to lend a helping hand, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, or some motherly advice.
The Port of Belize Limited takes this opportunity to applaud and thank Accountant-Ms. Joyce Ramsey for her twenty seven (27) plus years of faithful and continuous service and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
